The new blog
Welcome to the new home of WashAveX, now called Washavexian. The old URL, www.washavex.com will now bring you here. Call me restless, or tired of Vox, or just trendy, but I’m ready to make Tumblr my new full time web home.
Tumblr has some great things going for it. Here is a summary of the features I like in this blog:
It loads fast and works well on all web browsers (as far as I know).
You don’t have to register to leave comment on the posts.
It is easy to post from my computer and from my phone.
There are some new things in my sidebar that might require additional explantion if you haven’t seen them before.

Under the navigate section you will find links to my archive, my Flickr pictures, something called Muxtape, and RSS. The archive is a record of everything in this blog, and it looks great. It is worth clicking on to take a look. Flickr will eventually be filled with high resolution images of the family and my drawings, although I have work to do with uploading. A muxtape is an online mix tape of current songs I’m enjoying and want to share with people. And RSS is a link to help add me to your Google Reader or whatever feed reader you might be using.

Twitter is a mini-blog that I post to from my phone. It is made up of short text messages often with links to websites or pictures I’ve taken. You can click the red text to go to my profile. Here is a short video to explain what twitter is all about. If you join twitter please add me to your friends.

One thing I liked about Vox was that when my neighbors did a post they would go to the top of the list to let me know they had posted. I want to incorporate that into my blogroll, but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. I’ll work on it.
